Basler Läckerli — Traditional Swiss Spice Cookies

Basler Leckerli are not only popular in Basel, Switzerland, but also enjoy great popularity all over the world. Baler Läckerli are made from wheat flour, honey, candied fruit (candied orange and lemon peel) and nuts (hazelnuts, almonds), among other things. The dough is rolled out flat, baked, then covered with a sugar glaze and cut into not too small rectangular pieces (the Läckerli) while still warm.
